At times there tends to be an increase in graffiti and tagging in the Ormeau area. It is unsightly and upsets the beautiful location we live in.

The Gold Coast City Council is committed to removing and preventing graffiti and has an excellent removal program in place. They need your help to make it effective.

Graffiti often occurs in public areas on walls, fences and other fixtures. It tends to be in the form of letters, shapes or symbols written with spray paint or other permanent substances. If left it can attract more graffiti and indicate a successful project for the perpetrators.

If you see graffiti all you need to do is note the location and phone 5581 7998. The GCCC (or responsible party) will then take the necessary steps to remove it. For more specific information and places to call please visit this website:

or you can download the Graffiti Fact Sheet here - http://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/attachment/people_and_communities/graffiti_fact_sheet.pdf

Graffiti is a crime and if you do see someone doing it please take down a description and phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Do not attempt to approach the culprits - it is not safe and you can help by simply reporting the incidences.

Please help keep Ormeau beautiful and safe.
