Brand new features for My Ormeau

1 September 2013 is the launch date of a new generation of My Ormeau. Thanks to the very generous support of our new MAJOR Gold Sponsors we are now able to increase the services we provide to the community. We have several new (potentially annual) events on the calendar moving forward as well as plans to streamline the website and add even more levels of community interaction.

Over the coming weeks you will see stickers on premises which indicate the local businesses who are Major Gold Sponsors, Silver Sponsors and Bronze Sponsors. We encourage you to support these businesses as they are dedicated to supporting the community and without them, we wouldn’t have the funds to evolve.

A special thank you to Bendigo Bank Ormeau, City of Gold Coast, Livingstone Christian College, LJ Hooker Ormeau, McDonald’s Ormeau, Ormeau Day & Night Pharmacy, Rivermount College, Shearers Arms Tavern and Subway Ormeau – welcome aboard as our 2013/14 major sponsors.

This weekend we have also launched our new SEARCH feature. With over 1,500 businesses now listed in the directory it was becoming a bit challenging to locate an exact business or service type. This should streamline the service and it can be accessed throughout the website in the Business Quick Find panel. You can still search by category in the drop-field below also.

We also tidied up the Business Directory display by offering a second viewing option with services by category. This might make browsing more enjoyable but for those attached to the old alpha-display listing, don’t worry, it’s still there, just scroll down a bit further.

Last but not least we released the details about our next community event – Off the Streets. You can check out more details about this new event here.

We are also looking into an exciting event for May 2014… details will come shortly.

Oh… and we have a new print run of ‘Proud to be a Local’ bumper stickers on the way too which can go on car bumpers or your wheelie bin.

One last reminder… without a supportive and connected community, My Ormeau would not exist. So thank YOU for your support and dedication. Hope you enjoy the improvements!
